WHAT TYPE OF PAINT DOES PASHA USE : Pasha uses high quality non-toxic, odorless acrylic paints that retain their vibrancy and color for generations.  Pasha uses acrylic paints which dry within minutes, allowing him to paint multiple layers quickly. No noxious or vaporous chemicals are used during painting.

DOES PASHA MIND INTERACTION WITH GUESTS ? Guests are encouraged to interact with questions about the painting process and techniques used by Pasha.  Questions are welcome!  Guests are also challenged to paint, so that part of their own hand has contributed to the final product.

WHEN IS THE PAINTING COMPLETED ?  The artwork will be taken after the event by Pasha to his studio where the painting’s final details are completed, and final protective varnish is applied.

WHAT TYPE OF VARNISH DOES PASHA USE ?  Pasha uses Damar varnish, developed by Renaissance artists from a rare tree sap in the Malay forests.  This glossy varnish allows future touch ups, does not discolor, and will protect the painting for generations.

WHO KEEPS THE PAINTING ?  Generally, the client keeps the finished painting.

WHAT DOES PASHA NEED FROM THE CLIENT ?  Pasha brings everything he will need, including drop cloth to protect the floor.  A clear space only 5’x5’ is sufficient room for him.   He will usually require an outlet nearby to plug in a light.  He will arrive ahead of guests to begin layout of the painting before guests arrive.

WHEN DID LIVE EVENT PAINTING BEGIN?  Earliest records of live event painting are from the royal courts of France during the Renaissance.  Painters were commissioned to capture the amusements of the court in all of its splendor and grandeur.  Another type of modern court painting developed in the 19th Century: criminal courtrooms!  Before the age of photography, newspapers would commission artists to speedily capture the characters during high profile trials.  The “Chicago World’s Fair” of 1893 brought many photographic inventions; the events themselves were captured by a multitude of live event painters.
